Aly & AJ The Distance: I know I am not the  only one who has been a huge Aly & AJ fan forever. So when they came out with there new EP Ten Years this past fall I was so excited. I love all of Aly & AJ's songs off of this EP but my favorite is the song The Distance. There is just something about this song that stuck out to me and I found it replaying in my head constantly.

Meghan Trainor No Excuses: No Excuses is Meghan Trainor's newest single. It's defiantly the kind of song that makes you want to get up and sing and dance to it. One of my favorite things about Meghan Tranior's music is most of her songs are really fun and catchy, and this song is no exception.

Dua Lipa New Rules: New Rules by Dua Lipa is a song I have heard a lot lately, and I quickly became obsessed with this song. I love the style of this song, it has become one of my new favorites.

Camila Cabello Never Be The Same: Camila Cabello has continued to amaze me with her music time and time again. Havana was literally one of the best songs ever, and now she has released Never Be The Same off of her new album Camila and it is so good. I love everything about this song, this is definitely my favorite song right now.

Hey, I don't know about you but I am all about velvet this year. I have actually been obsessed with velvet forever, but now that it is back in style I am taking advantage and mixing in as much of this fabulous fabric as I can. Today I wore a velvet bomber jacket I got at JCPenney earlier this year. It is black velvet with coral and burgundy flowers embroidered on it. I love this jacket, it is my favorite mix of dressy from the velvet and flowers, and casual with the bomber style. I paired it with a burgundy top that is almost like a mock top but has a "x" cut out at the top. I also wore a pair of black leggings, and for shoes I wore my other obsession sneakers. These are my black suede Vicky Platform Puma's, I love love love these shoes. They are so comfy and they and can be worn with almost anything.

My Striped Bag

2/5/2018

Hey everyone, the next assignment in earning my Fashion Industry Essentials Certificate for Parsons and Teen Vogue I had to create the finished bag off of the mockup I made in the previous assignment. I also had to create my own striped textile, I felt the best way to do this is to use aqua blue washi tape and place it on white fabric. Then I had to figure out the production cost on the finished bag to see what kind of a profit I would make. The production cost was a little different then I had predicted since I used less fabric and tape, and it took me about a half an hour less than I had projected in my original production cost chart in the last assignment.

My Mockup

2/5/2018

Hello. For my next assignment to earn my Certificate from Parsons and Teen Vogue I had to create a mockup of a purse. A mockup is basically a practice run using either muslin, light card stock, or whatever material you like to work with. This is always good to do as a first step in any project that way you know what you may need to change in you finished item. For my mockup I used muslin to create a clutch bag. After creating my mockup I had to create a chart showing my projected production cost of my future product. This is a great way to see if your ideas will  be profitable and how you can change things to make more of a profit.

Production Cost

2/5/2018

Hey all! Recently I have had a great opportunity to take part in Parsons and Teen Vogue's online program to earn my Fashion Industry Essentials Certificate. For a past assignment they had us create an accessory using unexpected materials. As you can see below I used party streamers, rope, and some beads, to create a bracelet.
Picture
For our most recent assignment they wanted us to figure out the production cost on the bracelet I made. First I had to calculate how much the products I used cost and then times it by the time I spent creating the accessory. Then you times your total production cost by .2 to figure out your price with a 20% profit.
Picture
Next I had to go online and see if I could find our materials cheaper, if so calculate in the new cost, Then I also needed to figure out the new production cost if I created the bracelet at a faster pace. Here I calculated if I made the bracelet in a .3 hours, instead of .4 hours.
Picture
I have learned that production cost is important because if you aren't making a profit in the items you are creating you need to rethink your materials, and the amount of time you are taking to create them.

Production Standards

One of my assignments for Teen Vogue and Parsons Certificate for Fashion Essentials is to compare two of the exact same size, color, and style tops with each other, to see how the fit and can be different. The reason why this can be is because, clothes made in mass production can have a 1/2inch margin difference. So for this assignment I went to Macy's and tried on two plum colored lace up tops form the junior department both in the size small. I defiantly noticed a difference, the first top I tried on fit perfect. It was the right fit through the middle, and the sleeves where the right length. I loved the way this top fit so much that I actually decided to buy it. Now the second top is another story, I thought it was a little to big and long through the middle, and the sleeves where too short. If I had gone to the store and picked up just the second top to try on I would not have bought it because the fit just seemed off to me. It's crazy how the same article of clothing can be off by just a 1/2inch and change your whole outlook on the garment. This isn't the first time I have had this happen especially when it come to pants, and I am sure it won't be the last. I guess its always good to try on a few of the same items of clothing before making your final decision on a garment.

I don't know about you but I have been a huge Lorde fan ever since the first time I heard the song Royals three years ago. So when news broke that she would be releasing a second album I have been impatiently awaiting it's release. I knew after Lorde release her first single, Green Light off of Melodrama that this album would live up to what I have come to expect from her. I love Lorde's style of music since it is so unique, every sing on the album is interesting in the best way. This is the perfect breakup album since I feel like with each song I am listening to the story of Lorde's recent breakup. I love everything about Lorde's new album Melodrama, I literally can't stop listening to it.

Hello! Today I wore one of my new favorite outfits. I just recently got the jacket form Macy's. It is a black quilted bomber jacket, it was originally $49, and I snagged it on sale for $19. The top is also from Macy's, it is a cold shoulder top, which I pulled forward and made into a cowl neck to wear with the jacket. The skirt came from Forever 21, it was a bargain, for only $8. I love the color and the corduroy material. Since it is cold I wore black leggings, and my black boots. Then I finished the look off with one of my favorite new pieces, my black rope choker, I think it is so cute! I love this look, and all the pieces go so well together.

My Current Music Playlist.

Music is one of my favorite things, so having a great playlist is always key to me. Right now my playlist has "I Don't Wanna Live Forever" by ZAYN and Taylor Swift, "I Don't Know My Name" by Grace VanderWaal, "Thumbs" by Sabrinia Carpenter, and "Starving"(feat. Zedd) by Hailee Steinfield & Grey.

1.) "I Don't Wanna Live Forever" by ZAYN and Taylor Swift: I was really excited to hear about this collab between ZAYN and Taylor Swift for the "Fifty Shades Darker Soundtrack". I am a huge fan of Taylor Swift, and she hasn't released a new song for awhile, so it was great to here music from her again. The song is amazing, but you would expect no less from ZAYN and Taylor Swift.

2.) "I Don't Know My Name" by Grace VanderWaal: I first heard Grace VanderWaal sing at the Macy Thanksgiving Day Parade, and I was blown away by the talent this 12 year old girl has. I love Grace's music because I find it so relatable. Her song "I Don't Know My Name" is so good, I have had it stuck in my head since I first heard it.

3.) "Thumbs" by Sabrinia Carpenter: Sabrinia Carpenter is
probably one of my most favorite singers right now. When she released her new record "EVOLution" I loved all of her songs but one song "Thumbs" really stuck out to me. It is so catchy, and fun to sing along to.

4.) "Starving"(feat. Zedd) by Hailee Steinfield & Grey: "Starving" has been out for awhile now, and it still remains on my playlist because it is so good. I love all of Hailee Steinfeld's music, but I think "Starving" is my favorite song she has
released yet. I can't wait until Hailee releases a full album.

So recently I have been all about Kylie Jenner's Lip Kits, I got a few of them for Christmas and they are amazing( I will be doing a review on them soon!). So when I heard that Kylie Jenner was going to also be selling clothes and accessories, at her new website The Kylie Shop, I couldn't wait. The item that caught my eye the most was the Pink Lips iPhone Case. It is so adorable, and I have the hardest time finding cases to fit my iPhone 7plus( it also comes in 6, 6plus, and 7). The best part was the  iPhone case is only $15.00, which is a great deal. I love the pink lips, and I think they look so good with my rose gold phone. Kylie also had a few other cases, a Multi-Colored Lip case, a case that says Kylie Jenner Lips, and a case with the Drips running down it. Kylie Jenner is such a girl boss, and I can't wait to see what she does next!

Hello there! So unfortunately the warm weather couldn't last forever, and today it got colder. So I embraced the wintery weather by wearing one of my current favorite trends, the puffer vest. I got this specific puffer vest this year from Target, I fell in love with the red plaid, it stood out to me from other basic puffer vest. I wore it with a grey long sleeve top, and skinny jeans, and I also wore my taupe booties. I love this look for winter, puffer vest are a fun way to mix up you look from wearing a coat everyday. Hey all, happy 2017! Today I lucked out, the weather where I live was pretty warm, especially considering they are calling for snow this weekend (I am crossing my fingers they are wrong!). So anyway, I wanted to take advantage of this weather, so today I wore one of my favorite jackets, I got it last year right before summer at on sale at Hollister. It was one of those pieces you didn't plan to buy but it fit perfectly, plus it was such a bargain, I could resist! I love the suede material of this jacket, it looks casual and classy at the same time, and I also love how it is woven down the front of the jacket. I paired it with a deep red top, and one of my all time favorite things boyfriend jeans! boyfriend jeans are something I have become addicted to, and I wear them all of the time. I also wore a lighter tan suede mule shoe, I love these shoes so much, once again I found them on sale and I couldn't say no. The jewelry I wore was a basic mixed metal choker, and my Michael Kors pendent. I am in love with the choker trend, I think it is so fun, and they really add a little extra something to everything you wear! Make sure you keep checking heyitsksha.com

Today is the day us pumpkin crazed fans waited all year for, the release of the Pumpkin Spice Latte at Starbucks. But wait there is a catch, in order to get your PSL before the official release date, which is scheduled for September 6, you have to either be a Starbucks Reward member. Or if you are not a Starbucks reward member you can just go to @TheRealPSL Instagram or Twitter account for a link to a code for early access. I know what you must be thinking isn't it easier just to wait 5 more days to get the drink when it is officially released, but my answer is "no way!" I am far to impatient to wait 5 days for a delicious pumpkin drink as good as the PSL is! -k.sha

I am such a huge fan of Sinful Colors Nail Polishes, they are inexpensive, come in a wide variety of colors, and look really pretty. The newest shade I just got is called Lie-Lac, it is a pastel purple, with almost a hint of blue and grey. It has a shinny matte finish, and it goes on really smooth. I really love this shade because it adds a fun pop of color to your look, it is especially a really great shade for summer or spring. What do you think of SinfulColors newest shade Lie-Lac? -k.sha

Dunkin' Donuts Pumpkin Macchiato Review!

I know what most of you are thinking isn't it a little early for pumpkin, well any true pumpkin fan would say no it's never to early for pumpkin! I just recently started getting into drinking Dunkin' Donuts coffee, and overall I have been impressed, so I've been patiently(or maybe impatiently) counting down the days until they released there pumpkin coffee. I was really excited to try it and see how it measured up against Starbucks. I ordered a Pumpkin Macchiato, because it sounded really different, and so far I have found that I like the Macchiatos the best at Dunkin'. The verdict: I was shocked, but in a good way, not that I didn't think it would be good, I was just surprised how different it tasted. The syrup seemed a lot thinner and had more of a spice to it. I honestly don't think I could pick which is better between the Dunkin' Donuts or Starbucks Pumpkin drinks, it would really depend on my mood for the day to decide which one I got. -k.sha

I may have been a little late to the game on this one, but I honestly can't get enough of this app! Bitmoji is cheesy, adorable, and everything I love about emoji's only upgraded. So if you haven't stumbled across this app yet basically you create a avatar that looks like yourself, they have a lot of hair, outfits, etc. to choose from. There is even a few designer outfit which are really fun to dress your avatar up in. Then once you are finished your avatar is created into a ton of different adorable emoji's. They have emoji's that say things like "Hello, Good Morning, I Love You" and even things like "#OOTD, ZZZZ, Great!" and basically any  other random thing yo can think of.  So if you are like me and you are all about the emoji's, the Bitmoji app is perfect for you! -k.sha

Hello! I am so happy the warm weather is finally here, it's finally time to pull out the shorts and flip flops! Today I wore a long sleeve off the shoulder top that is black with little pink flowers on it, I got this top a few months ago from JCPenney and I am crazy about it. I really love the off the shoulder tops they are defiantly one of my favorite new trends. I paired this top with a pair of black high waisted shorts, and black flip flop sandals. I wore a simple gold bar necklace, so it didn't overpower the top. For hair and makeup I curled my hair in loose waves, and wore I hot pink gloss. -k.sha

I don't know about you but I am music obsessed, music energizes me, and changes my mood, which is why I love it so much. And now since two of my favorite artist, Meghan Trainor, and Ariana Grande just recently released albums, they add great songs into the mix. Which is really making me love my new playlist. -k.sha
  • Stilettos by Kelsea Ballerina: All of Kelsea's songs on her album The First Time are so fun to listen to, but the song Stilettos stuck out to me as a favorite, because I love how she compares stiletto shoes in this to her pain. I think it is very clever and original.

  • Me Too by Meghan Trainor: Picking a favorite song off of Meghan Trainor's new Album Thank You is a hard task since they are all equally amazing, but her new single Me Too is probably one of my most favorites, it is upbeat and fun, and I love the music video for this song.
  • Dangerous Woman by Ariana Grande: I love Dangerous Woman by Ariana Grande, it is a great song to sing along to, and Ariana Grande's vocals are amazing.
  • Lush Life by Zara Larson: Zara Larson, is one of my new favorite artist, her voice is amazing and I love her music. Out of all of her songs I love Lush Life because it is so upbeat, I think I could sing and dance to this song all day!

SinfulColors King Kylie Collection Review in shade Karamel!

5/13/2016

Picture
Probably by now you know that SinfulColors Nail Polish is my favorite nail polish. It's not too pricey, there are a lot of shades to choose from, and it tends to stay on pretty well. So when I saw they where doing collection with Kylie Jenner I was really excited. SinfulColors and Kylie Jenner came out with four collections King Kylie, Denim & Bling, Trends Matter Velvety Demi Mattes, and Trends Matter Pure Satin Mattes. So far I have tried the shade Karamel from the King Kylie Collection, it is a two step gel polish, so if you have never used the SinfulColors gel polish before you will also have to get the top coat. I myself have never tried the gel polishes before so I was excited to see if they were any better than regular polish. I really liked the color Karamel because it is a really neutral pinky gold tone with lots of sparkles. On I could defiantly see the difference in the gel versus the regular polish, it is more shinny and smooth looking. As far as chipping goes I felt it stayed on about the same amount of time as the regular polish usually does. I am loving Kylie Jenner's nail polish Collections with SinfulColors, and I hope they keep collaborating and continuing to come out with even more shades. -k.sha

As you may already know I try to stick to as much of a gluten free diet as possible, so when I saw Ruby Tuesday got in a gluten free bun for there burgers I was super excited! I love turkey burgers, so I knew I wanted to order that, so I go the Avocado Turkey burger and swapped the bacon, lettuce, and tomatoes for mushrooms(my favorite burger topping). Then I asked to switch my side on french fries for grilled zucchini. I really really loved this Burger, it was juicy, had lots of flavor, and the gluten free bun tasted just as good as a regular bun to me. Ruby Tuesday is actually one of my favorite restaurants there food is really good and if you sign up for there So Connected eClub they are constantly sending out coupons which makes the prices not that bad. This Gluten Free Turkey Burger was so delicious I can't wait to get another one! -k.sha

How to Make Easy and Delicious Whole Wheat Apple Pancakes!

4/16/2016

Picture
I do not know about you but I love pancakes! Who am I kidding everybody loves pancakes, and my favorite kind are my Whole Wheat Apple Pancakes. The best part about the pancakes recipe I have for you today is that I used Aunt Jemima Whole Wheat Mix to create them. Which means it is super easy, healthier than regular pancake mix, and I actually prefer the taste of whole wheat pancakes over regular because they are not as sweet. The first thing you will want to do to make Whole Wheat Apple Pancakes is peel and slice apples, then place them on tin foil. Next you will want to sprinkle some cinnamon and brown sugar onto the apples. Then Fold the tin foil and place in the oven to bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Up next you are going to take 1 cup of the pancake mix and mix it with a dash of vanilla extract and 1 1/14 cup of water, then stir your batter lightly. The next step is to take your skillet and spray it with pam, so the pancakes don't stick, then add you pancake mix into the skillet. You will then want to drop your baked apples into your pancake batter. Once the pancakes start bubbling you will want to flip them, and let them cook for about 1 more minute. After that the pancakes are ready to remove from the skillet, the last step is to sprinkle some powder sugar on top of you pancakes. Now your Whole Wheat Apple Pancakes are complete and are ready to eat! -k.sha

Brookside Dark Chocolate Blood Orange & Peach Review!

I don't know about you but one of my FAVORITE flavor combinations is dark chocolate and fruit, it really doesn't get better than that. So I have naturally been a fan of Brookside Chocolates since they hit the market. One of my favorite fruit and chocolate combos has always been orange and dark chocolate, so I have been patiently waiting for Brookside to create this flavor. Finally I found Brookside Dark Chocolate with Blood Orange and Peach, and since peach is one of my favorite fruits I wasn't complaining that it was also included in the mix. This new flavor is amazing, the sweet and tangy peach and orange combined with the dark chocolate, was pure perfection. One thing I love about Brookside chocolates, is they are tiny bite size pieces so you can eat a few, or a whole bunch and basically portion size your snack. These new Brookside Dark Chocolate Blood Orange & Peach Chocolates are so good, I couldn't imagine them any tastier. -K.sha

The Intern Movie Review!

I very seldom do a movie review, but that is only because I have yet to find to many movies in the past few years that I really enjoyed watching. Recently I rented The Intern (rated PG-13), and I truly enjoyed this movie. It reminded me of the movies that used to be made not to long ago, like The Devils Wear Prada, that were cute movies, with a strong cast, and good plot line. The Intern stared Robert De Niro and Anne Hathaway, two amazing actors who made this film. The overall plot of the movie is 70 year old Ben(Robert De Niro) becomes an intern to Jules(Anne Hathaway) who runs her own fashion website. This movie was hilarious, had a great story line, and some really sweet moments. I have already watch The Intern twice, because yes I thought it was that good, and I really recommend if you haven't seem it you do so immediately. -k.sha

Starbucks Caramelized Honey Latte and Frappuccino Review!

4/8/2016

Picture
I can't get enough coffee, so when Starbucks comes out with a new flavor I get totally excited to try something new. There newest drink is the Caramelized Honey Latte, which is a latte with a Caramel Honey sauce and a Caramelized Honey Topping. I have tried this drink in both a Iced Latte and a Frappuccino. This drink really surprised me because I thought it would be really sweet with the honey, but actually it wasn't over sweet, which was perfect for me. Between the Frappuccino and the Iced Latte I preferred this particular flavor in the Frappuccino form, I feel like you can taste the Caramelized Honey flavor better, and the Topping goes better on the Frappuccino too. On the Iced Latte the flavor was good but the Topping kinda just dissolved in the drink. Overall I was really impressed with both the Caramelized Honey Latte and Frappucciono. -k.sha

Sip by S'well Water Bottle Exclusively at Target!

I am in love with my new water bottle! I got it at Target, the brand is Sip by S'well. I was drawn to these water bottles because they came in a wide varieties of colors and patterns, I got the yellow one with the bees on it, which I think is adorable. I also loved how these water bottles where stainless steal, I don't like drinking out of plastic, and glass water bottles become very heavy to carry around all the time. Also S'well uses a technology that keeps your drink the temperature it was when you first poured it into the bottle, which is nice when you have ice water and you are in a hot climate. This water bottle is 15oz which is almost the same size of a typical bottle of water, I felt like it was the perfect size. The water bottle cost $24.99, which seems a bit high but I felt like it was worth it since I use my water bottle a lot. I'm loving this Sip by S'well water bottle! Between being made out of stainless steal, and how cute it is with the yellow and the bees, this water bottle was a no brainer for me! -k.sha
